Debt Collection

The cornerstone of S&I’s practice focuses on the collection of both commercial and consumer debt in an extremely aggressive yet cost effective manner. Usually upon receipt and review of a new matter, a ten day formal demand letter is dispatched coupled with attempts by our office to informally resolve the dispute with the debtor. Should the debtor fail to resolve the dispute in the designated time frame, S&I helps secure the client’s chances at collection by immediately commencing legal action in order to secure a judgment.

Utilizing prejudgment remedies such as a writ of attachment or writ of possession at the onset of the action places sufficient pressure on the debtor thus encouraging prompt resolution without the costs associated with litigation and trial. These prejudgment remedies save our clients both time and money.

The firm’s collection efforts do not cease after the judgment is entered. S&I’s aggressive nature and experience in the industry have successfully equipped our office to collect on the judgment through various judgment enforcement remedies, including but not limited to, real and personal property levies, filing and recording of liens to secure lien position, and conducting judgment debtor examinations.

S&I has attorneys that are licensed to practice in all of the state and federal courts in California and have established affiliates in most states and are therefore able to meet our client’s nationwide collection needs.
